KNOW YOUR RIGHTS

During the Trump 2.0 administration we may witness attacks on neighbors, whether it's increasing ICE raids against undocumented people, use of law enforcement against peaceful protests,  or an increase in hate crimes.

For this reason it is important for us to know our rights and to spread information about what's legal and what's not.

ICE PRESENCE

Report any ICE raid you witness to the California Collaborative for Immigrant Justice (CCIJ) by calling the hotline or going to the website of your county Rapid Response Network

Print and distribute KNOW YOUR RIGHTS red cards, available in 9 languages

and share these links with your undocumented neighbors:

Hold Law Enforcement Accountable

It is legal to film Police interventions (as long as you are not in their way).

ACLU Mobile Justice app enables users to:

  • record exchanges with police officers and other law enforcement officials (audio & video)

  • alert anyone with the app to witness an encounter

  • send an incident report to the ACLU

INTERVENE

Since 2016, hate crimes have steadily risen in the US.

Have a plan to respond to incidents you witness:

  • SAFETY - De-escalation is the safest way of responding

  • SUPPORT - Support what the targeted person wants

  • SOLIDARITY - We are with the targeted person in solidarity, not as a savior
